Photography has been a favorite hobby of mine since childhood - one that often offers me a feeling that the camera is a friend of sorts.
I believe it gives one an opportunity to see things in a different way. In 2012, I attended my first traveling workshop in Giverny, France, spending two weeks in Monet's garden and surrounding towns. It was that trip which truly opened my eyes to a deeper examination of nature with the camera as a tool to do so.
I began to combine travel with photography, attending workshops throughout the country. My favorites were those located in National Parks or destinations that allowed for time in nature. Ultimately, photography became a zen way for me to slowly explore things and think about the world from a new perspective.
I've recently found other interests that have me spending much less time with photography, but still enjoy revisiting and editing images as well as an occasional photo field trip.
